MISSION
The mission of U.S. Kids Golf is to help kids have fun learning the lifelong game of golf and to encourage family interaction that builds lasting memories.
HISTORY
U.S. Kids Golf was started in January 1997 as a solution to the problem its founder, Dan Van Horn, experienced when introducing his kids to golf. His children, ages 3 and 6 at the time, were enthusiastic when Van Horn first took them to the range, but their interest quickly diminished.
"They weren't having fun," Van Horn recalls. "They would lose interest after only 15 minutes. At the time, I didn't know cutoffs and junior clubs were so heavy. They were not only hurting my kids' swings, but also their desire to play."
That's when Van Horn began developing Ultralight Kidsklubs, designed to be 25 percent lighter than adult and most junior clubs, and formed U.S. Kids Golf.
Since then, parents and pros have seen the incredible difference properly fit, lightweight clubs can make in their children’s swings and enthusiasm for the game. Now players new to the game can select Ultralight clubs and more advanced players can choose TOUR SERIES clubs.
In its first decade, U.S. Kids Golf established itself as the leading manufacturer of equipment for juniors. The company’s products are sold in more than 4,000 golf shops and retail locations in the U.S. and are available in Europe, Canada, the Middle and Far East, South America, Mexico and Australia.
U.S. Kids Golf is the only company to earn the Golf Digest Editors’ Choice honor every year since the magazine began its product rankings in 2004.
Through the Personal Tee™ Golf Learning Program and its Local Tours, Regional Championships, U.S. Kids Golf World Championship Qualifiers and the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship, U.S. Kids Golf also provides opportunities for instruction and competition to young players around the world.
